Operations Manager - 1st shift

JOB SUMMARY

The Operations Manager will oversee the overall order fulfilment process, mainly consisting of the Inbound, Outbound and Customer Service. 

He/She will report to the Site Manager. He/She will promote a culture of operational excellence focused on health and safety, quality, productivity, and delivery. The position will supervise the forecast and budget for the division and the report of the results to corporate. The position manages relationships between customer and Managing Director.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the overall direction of all manufacturing and customer service functions.
  • Responsible for managing plant costs within company budgets.
  • Maintain plant policies and procedures.
  • Directs and co-ordinates material management, production operations and process improvement on a day-to-day basis.
  • Manage systems and procedures for operational cost and usage controls.
  • Works closely with sales and customers to facilitate technical information interface.
  • Establishes process costing.
  • Assists engineering with new product development.
  • Monitors and analyzes costs.
  • Performs special tasks for Corporate as required.
  • Develop and update production forecasts based on the input from sales forecasts on an ongoing basis in line with Nefab’ s planning/rolling forecast system.
  • Monitors monthly usage and waste reports
  • Troubleshooting and variance analysis
  • Lead and compile the company’s forecasting (annual and rolling 4Q) as part of the planning cycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts at our existing facilities, including but not limited to Kaizen events, 6-S events, 5s, Cost Reduction initiatives, and Business Improvement planning/development.
  • Map current flows and continuously evaluate and implement flow improvements 
  • Initiate and coordinate major projects – plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, addition of new manufacturing and converting capabilities, major repairs, etc.
  • Coordinate and support on-site audits conducted by external providers, as well as evaluate their findings and implement appropriate corrective actions
  • Keep current on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation and ensure compliance.
  • Continuously improve Nefab’s costing and pricing systems.
  • Company goals and objectives, as defined from time to time.
  • Work with human resources with the capacity needs to fulfill market demand.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, logistics, Supply Chain or similar

EXPERIENCE

  • 15+ years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a   process-oriented operation and/or related industry
  • Experience developing and implementing a QMS as well participating in or leading ISO audits
  • Experience working with Lean Manufacturing strategies, Quality Management tools and methodologies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, warehouse management systems, database systems

As Quality Engineer you are the first point of contact for quality topics across the packaging supply chain, internally (Operations, Engineering, Planning and Sales) and externally (customers and suppliers). You will contribute to:

  • Be on-site on the shop floor and in the warehouse to solve quality issues where they arise (hands-on troubleshooting).
  • Support customers and internal stakeholders with non-conformities, claims and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA, 8D).
  • Coordinate with the Quality Inspection team to verify products against customer specifications; guide day-to-day inspection priorities.

  • Lead root-cause investigations (5 Whys, Ishikawa) and translate findings into robust actions with suppliers and internal teams.

As Demand Planning & Forecast Lead, you will be responsible for designing, establishing, and leading the regional demand planning process. This includes developing forecasting methodologies, consolidating and validating demand signals, and driving the Demand Review as part of the S&OP cycle. YOUR PROFILE

To be successful in this role, you bring a strong combination of analytical expertise, business understanding, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field
  • 5–8 years of experience in Demand Planning, Forecasting, or Sales Planning within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with hands-on experience using statistical forecasting tools
  • Experience designing or improving demand planning processes, ideally within an S&OP framework

JOB SUMMARY

The Production Manager is responsible for the overall safe and efficient operation of the manufacturing facility to include, but not limited to, personnel, production, maintenance, customer requirements/interface, planning and scheduling, safety, and housekeeping. Location: Newark

Nefab Packaging West is looking for a Maintenance Technician to work in our Manufacturing site located in Newark, CA.

Working with the General Manager, and the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for facilities maintenance, equipment maintenance, and assists with the development and implementation of manufacturing processes.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

- Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures

- Install, align, take apart, move and maintain machinery

- Use various lifting devices, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, gages and measurement instruments to complete work

- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and find irregularities and malfunctions

- Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls

- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts

- Operate machine tools, such as lathes and grinders, to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery

- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine scheduled maintenance work on machinery

- Implement a Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) system, including ISO documentation and a detailed PM schedule for each machine

- Use of predictive maintenance techniques and implementation of a computerized maintenance management system to trigger maintenance planning, execution and reporting

- Identify and implement projects to improve machine and operator performance

- Provide basic operations and maintenance training to production operator

- Respond immediately to requests from operators and production supervisors

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION

- 2-year vocational training or associate’s degree in a related field of study

- Previous training on applicable machinery (CNC)

- Previous training in reading and understanding blueprints/manuals for machinery

- Journeyman or apprentice electrician

EXPERIENCE

- Previous experience designing and improving preventive maintenance plans

- Previous experience in the preventive maintenance of applicable machinery

- Previous experience troubleshooting machine malfunctions/issues

- Previous experience repairing all applicable machinery
